About

A studio and a yard, in the same building.

Container Yard was founded in 2019 to close the gap between how well modular buildings can be drawn and how badly they are usually made.

We work as one team across design and fabrication. The people who detail a junction are in the same building as the people who weld it, so decisions are tested against reality rather than passed downstream.

Our work spans single portable cabins, container conversions, multi-unit compounds and one-off architectural commissions. The scale changes; the standard does not. Every project carries the same insulation strategy, the same shading logic and the same finish schedule.

We are based in Abuja, Nigeria, with our yard located after SCC Construction Company on the Gwarimpa-Kubwa Expressway. We deliver to Abuja and the surrounding states, and across the country on request. Most units are watertight on the day they arrive on site.

How we work

Four rules we don't bend.

01

Draw first

Nothing is cut until the drawings are agreed. It keeps the price honest and the programme real.

02

Build under cover

Weather is the enemy of tolerance. Fabricating indoors gives us joints that close and finishes that last.

03

Design for heat

Shade, cross-ventilation and insulation are structural decisions here, not upgrades added at the end.

04

Leave the ground alone

Screw piles and pad footings wherever possible. Less concrete, less disruption, less to undo later.
